When you’re putting stainless steel material into the human body, it needs to be ultra-pure and support the growth of vascular tissue. Our customers include some of the world’s leading medical device companies, who place high demands on us for their machining, sterilization, packing, stocking and delivery to world-leading hospitals.
Our tubing for bone nails and hollow screws is set apart by the high purity of our melts, which are produced in our own advanced steel mill. The tubing is characterized by its homogeneous structure, very high degree of purity and absence of delta-ferrite.
Corrosion resistant, tolerant to human tissue
As a result, it offers high resistance to intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking as well as to pitting and crevice corrosion. Significantly, our implant tubing also offers good tolerance to human tissue.
Frequently used medical product
Much of our tubing is used for bone screws since they are most frequently used for general purpose fixation devices. In some cases, they may be the only hardware used in reparative or constructive surgery. More commonly, they are used with other hardware devices, particularly plates, to fixate the associated device to bone.
