The quality and peace of mind you expect
Alleima® 3R60 is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel. It has a minimum 2.6% molybdenum content compared to the 2.0% ASTM standard and has low carbon.
Alleima® 3R60 is used for a wide range of industrial applications where steels of type ASTM 304 and 304L have insufficient corrosion resistance. Typical examples are heat exchangers, condensers, pipelines, cooling and heating coils in the chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, pulp and paper, and food industries.
Alleima® 3R60 has good resistance in:
- Organic acids at high concentrations and moderate temperatures
- Inorganic acids, e.g. phosphoric and sulfuric acids, at moderate concentrations and temperatures. The steel can also be used in sulfuric acid of concentrations above 90% at low temperatures
- Salt solutions, e.g. sulfates, sulfides and sulfites
- Caustic environments

Its low carbon content gives it better resistance to intergranular corrosion than steels of type AISI 316 while it has substantially higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion than steels of type AISI 304. More adaptable than 90 ASTM-type materials, it provides perfect hardness with no bends, breaks, or wall collapse and is a good fit for leak-free connections. Consistently high quality allows automated bending.
Alleima® 3R60 is manufactured and supplied in 6-meter lengths to support your financial decision-making. Cleaning to the highest standards reduces the risks of corrosion-forming deposits and eliminates pickling residue. Tolerances for all Alleima hydraulic and instrumentation tubing are tighter than ASTM standards.
Nine steps toward a cleaner conscience
Alleima has developed comprehensive nine-step hydraulic and instrumentation cleaning process that covers everything from an outside alkaline bath and oil removal right the way through to inside air drying and protection plugs. It’s part of the Alleima Peace of Mind standard (link to Peace of Mind standard).
