Slitting
Wide strip is slit into finished sizes in special slitters with cemented carbide tools, which give a very high edge quality and extremely close tolerances. After slitting, a corrosion-preventive oil is applied to the strip.
Width tolerances
+/- 0.020 mm (0.0008 in.) for widths up to 20 mm (0.787 in.)
+/- 0.035 mm for widths over 20 mm (0.787 mm)
The variation within a coil is max. +/- 0.010 mm (0.0004 in.).
Delivery forms
Our razor blade strip steel can be supplied in coils or bundles, both carefully packed with various packing materials according to customer requirements, destination or method of transport.
Coils
The razor blade strip steel is wound into pancake coils on plastic cores with an inner diameter of 280 mm (11.0 in.). The coils can be supplied in weights between 1 and 5 kg/mm strip width which means an outer diameter from about 500 to 1000 mm (20-40 in.).
Bundles
The razor blade strip steel is welded into a long, continuous length, which is wound on a paper core with an inner diameter of 305 mm (12.0 in.). The welds have narrow dimensional tolerances, high strength and are marked. Bundle weight max. 300 kg (660 lbs).
